Tell us about yourself

I’m originally from Minnesota but have gone to school and lived in Iowa for about 9 years. I’m a traveling nurse currently, and have the pleasure of working with the tiniest most precious souls- premature babies.

What is your biggest dream?

I think for me it would be to empower and help women who have gone through difficult experiences. Whether that is on a nursing level, as a mentor, or in a church setting- I don’t care. I know helping others is my calling and I’m excited to see where that takes me.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To embrace yourself as you are. I’ve struggled a lot with this personally, so it hits home for me. Learning to accept and even love the flaws, because that’s truly what makes each of us so beautiful.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

Pretty minimal at this point, Have had the opportunity to walk in a local fashion show for Des Moines fashion week which was so fun.

What is your dream brand to model for?

I don’t have one brand in particular that I would choose. I think fashion is amazing and love seeing all different styles of work. I think variety is a beautiful thing, in terms of clothing and models.

How would you describe your fashion style?

It all depends on my mood. I lean more towards bright colors and patterns lately and love flowy shirts and dresses that hit my curves. While I love dressing up and going all out at times, I really enjoy being low key and comfortable. Dressing down is when I feel the most in my element and beautiful.

How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?

It’s everything. I think the way we feel about ourselves is what projects out to the rest of the world. It was when I was able to fully embrace and accept all my flaws that I began to finally start loving myself.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I think my personality makes me beautiful. I have a quirky personality and love to laugh. When I’m smiling I feel most like myself, and that’s what I think beauty is.  Being able to dig deep and find yourself, and loving what you find.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Confidence is something that I recently was able to find in myself. I had to dig deep and throw out everything that society deemed “perfect” and focus on the fact that God made me this way for a reason. Self-love is crucial in being confident, and I still struggle with it from time to time, so I know how it feels. I would tell someone else struggling with this, to focus on how amazing they are and don’t let others try and stomp on their sunshine, because they’ll try. I think the happiest people are the ones who have endured sadness, and struggle and have come back stronger from it. I know I have, and that’s what I wish for others.
