South Carolina, USA.
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Lauren Irving, I live in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I am 17 years old and have always had the motivation to be a model. I am a current senior at Socastee High School. I will be attending the University of Alabama next fall to study marketing and fashion.
What is your biggest dream?:
My biggest dream is one day own/produce my own clothing line preferably in Los Angeles.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of beautiful is a different aspect for everybody but in my point of view it is being yourself and not caring about what others think about you because at the end of the day being unique is so much better than being like everyone else. Being your own kind of beautiful doesn't necessarily identify your looks on the outside it focuses on who you are in the inside.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I just recently got into modeling but it has always been a dream of mine to pursue a career in modeling.
What is your dream brand to model for?
It has always been a dream of mine to model for Versace and other high end fashion companies. Just like every other aspiring model it would also be an absolute dream to model for the Victoria's Secret fashion shows.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style is a lot different then most teenagers. My style is not wearing what every other kid in my school has. I love to dress different and wear colorful and unique clothing.
How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?
Self awareness and confidence is a big deal in my everyday life. Having confidence plays a huge part on first impressions, dates, and all in all making new friends. I have recently just learned how to project my confidence and self awareness and feel as if every woman should be able to love themselves and shouldn't be shamed for announcing it.
What makes you beautiful?
I think that my ability to love everyone is what makes me beautiful, you rarely meet someone who is genuinely kind and giving as myself. I believe that how outgoing I am also makes me beautiful, there is never a dull moment with me.
What would you say to another girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?:
I would say to other women that confidence is a hard thing to gain. Constantly being reminded on social media that to be beautiful you have to be skinny and have a bunch of followers is he hardest pill to swallow. But that is not the case, being confident is knowing that you are absolutely stunning in your own way and it isn't the easiest thing to do. I would want other woman to hear that wearing a good amount of makeup, being skinny, or even having a tan does not define the amazing person that you are. What matters the most is how you treat others and who you truly are in the inside. Beauty is not what you look like, it is having a pretty mind, a pretty heart, and an even prettier soul.
