Tell us about yourself

My name is Aurora, I'm 27 years old and recently moved to a small town called Lambertville, MI. I was born and raised in Ohio though, and am a huge fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes!

I currently live with my boyfriend and our cat Taffy we adopted in 2018. In my spare time I love to play video games, watch comedy shows, read, go on outdoor adventures, and paint. I work full time as a Jr Software Developer, and am a passionate advocate for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness.

What is your biggest dream?

So hard to pick just one! I have so many dreams for myself.

I'll narrow it down to 3. I would love to advance in my programming skills and one day work for Google or Microsoft. I also really want to walk the runway at least one time in my life- that's a very big dream for myself regarding my modeling! My last big dream I have, is I would love to start an organization that helps men and women cope with the loss of a child, and donate care boxes to hospitals to give to those who just suffered a loss. My hospital provided me with one, and I know not every woman gets to have that support. I would love to help as many men and women as possible, as I know firsthand how hard it is.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I think it really just comes down to being yourself. Your character, personality, looks, and style, all contribute to the unique being that is YOU! And that is a very beautiful thing. Every snowflake wouldn't be so mesmerizing and beautiful if they all looked the same- and just like snowflakes, each individual is unique. Stay true to yourself, and never be a copycat!

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have always been into modeling, but it wasn't until recently that I really started to pursue it. Growing up I was a contestant in the Miss Pre Teen Ohio pageant, and earned a trophy for "Outstanding 11 year old." From there, a local mall put on it's own version of America's Next Top Model, and selected girls to model back to school outfits for different stores. I was a model for that event twice, at ages 14 and 15. I never did much again until I was 25, and did some shoots with an Aunt of mine who is a photographer. From there, I slowly branched out and have worked with other area photographers, and even modeled for a pin-up rockabilly style calendar for a tattoo parlor, Embassy Ink and Gallery in Findlay, OH. I signed with Westhaven Management at the beginning of 2019, and now have been blessed with the opportunity to be a model for Hannah Noelle Models!

What is your dream brand to model for?

I would love to model for Aerie, as I really appreciate the fact they do no retouching and girls can stay true to themselves. I think that is important in marketing a clothing brand and sets realistic expectations!

How would you describe your fashion style?

More of an "on the fly" style. I dress a lot according to my mood, and am not afraid to try new styles. One day, it may be very plain T-shirt and jeans, the next day it could be a cute dress with short booties, or dressy jeans/dress pants paired with a blouse and blazer. Living where I do, the weather is so unpredictable, you have to be prepared for anything!

How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?

Very important. I have been through alot of things in my life that have posed tough challenges to my psyche, mental health, and overall well being. There are days I struggle with confidence, and others its through the roof! It's an ongoing process of self love and self awareness. I take the time to talk my feelings out, seek different perspectives on situations, and stay positive. A book I have read that has helped me, and I look back to often, is "The Difference Maker: Making Your Attitude Your Greatest Asset" by John C Maxwell. I highly recommend it to anyone- attitude plays a big role in many areas of life, including your confidence and self awareness!

What makes you beautiful?

My beauty isn't just about my looks. It's my personality, my character, and how I treat others. Beauty goes all the way down to the soul. My life experiences and how I have grown as a person into the woman I am, are part of what make me a beautiful person. I treat others with respect and have a huge heart. I am passionate about the things I care for, and strive to make a difference in the world, despite the struggles I have had that make it seem like the world is against me. I am unapologetically me, and true to myself- and that is the best kind of beautiful!

What would you say to another girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?

No matter what the world may tell you, or what you may imagine the world thinks of you, it doesn't matter. What matters is how you value yourself. You are never worthless, never meant to hide from the world. You were put on this world for a reason! Go rock your life! Be happy and unapologetically you. Utilize the support of family and friends who love you and are here to lift you up. I know we all struggle with feeling confident at times, I myself do too. But you are not alone, and life is a wonderful journey- do not let others or the worlds standards ruin it for you. Self help books are great as well for those struggling with confidence and positivity. Take the time for yourself, to better yourself; and love yourself. Self love goes a long way in boosting your confidence!
