Tell us about yourself.

Hello! My name is Melanie S., I am 16 years old.I live in Murrieta California, I grew up in Oceanside CA. One of my passions is doing makeup and hair.

My biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to become a professional model and a professional makeup artist.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful means being confident in your own skin, accepting yourself as you are, including all your insecurities, flaws, challenges and strengths; and always improving yourself to be more beautiful inside then out.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I started modeling at the age of 13, my aunt is a professional hair and makeup artist, who I modeled in many photoshoots collaborating with local photographers who were developing their portfolios. From that point forward I continued doing photoshoots. I started taking modeling classes early 2019 at World Class Modeling and Talent Studios. This began with my first fashion show for The Model Experience in Los Angeles. Since then I’m in LOVE with walking the runway.

What is your dream brand to model for?

My dream brands to model for are Victoria’s Secret, Guess, and Versace. But I am quite flexible with who would love to work with me!

How would you describe your fashion style?

My typical fashion style is usually classy casual with a twist of girly; but it does depend on how I’m feeling at the moment.

How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?

Self awareness is very important in my everyday life so that I am able to have knowledge about my strengths and challenges so that I can work on becoming a better version of myself. Confidence is important to me because I can seem shy, so when I’m feeling confident I’m able to accomplish more things.

What makes you beautiful?

What makes me beautiful is my personality; making others smile; using my strengths to help others be strong; and having a good heart.

What would you say to another girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?

What I would say to another girl who is struggling with self confidence is to consider their strengths and run with those. Those strengths will help you be confident in your own body and mind, and will help you to accomplish anything. It’s ok to be different than others because that’s what makes you unique.
