I am from San Diego, California, I am 22 years young, I am a marketing manager and medical assistant for a plastic surgeon. On my free time I work hard for castings and shoots. My goal is to make modeling my career.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I have done fashion shows here in San Diego, I have also done shoots for beauty company's new products.
What is your biggest dream?
Is to have modeling be my full time career. I enjoy walking runways and having photoshoots, so why not make it my career. I've had a passion for modeling for as long as I could remember.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
For me it's embracing your insecurities. I used to be insecure with my ears but as I got older I've embraced them and use them to stand out, it's my type of beautiful and people love it.
How would you describe your own fashion style?
I am going to be honest. I don't have a bad fashion style but I know it can definitely be better.
Who or what inspires me?
Tyra Banks has always inspired me to go for what I want, she is an icon who made me feel like I can make it in this industry. She worked hard to build the multimedia brand she has today and I know I can do the same. Lastly she has shown me that in this industry a lot of the time the answer will be no but I can not let that phase me and to just keep working harder for what I am striving for.
What is your advice for someone who is just getting started with modeling?
I would say take up on as many opportunities as you can and to soak up everyone's knowledge. I have learned a lot by modeling at local fashion shows and networking while there.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and show they have changed you.
I used to be very shy and it was a bit hard for me to push myself out of the box. Being shy did not help me with the whole networking thing. I realized the reason I was shy is because I was scared of being wrong. But then I started to realize it's all a learning process and I started to be more open and ask questions because knowledge is key. Now it has brought me to making new connections and seeking new opportunities.
What makes me beautiful?
I believe my personality is what makes me beautiful. I am told I'm beautiful on the outside but I get told that my personality is what really makes it. Plus my ears make me a different type of beautiful.
What would you say to another girl who is struggling with their confidence?
I would say to embrace every part of themselves and use it to stand out, to not hide it. Everyone struggles with their confidence so you're not alone.
