Tell us about yourself

- I am a 23 yr old model of 9 years from Wichita, Kansas. I’m constantly creating art in some form, and I love working alongside passionate people.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

- Being known as a “petite female model” can put you in such a small box. I’ve always been on the shorter side of the modeling requirements and grew up hearing, “You’re literally perfect...now come back when you grow five inches”. It can be very discouraging. Alongside height, living in the Midwest, they preferred you to be “commercial”, so being a short editorial model isn’t exactly the easiest career path. But I adore this industry and it’s forever changing and altering. Every day something new is created or discovered and displayed in such beautiful ways. I want to be apart of that.

What is your biggest dream?

- My biggest dream seems to change often because I’m always raising my expectations and goals, but currently? My dream is to be able create and model my own line in NYFW.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful is constantly reminding yourself of your worth and beauty even on the days you don’t feel it. It’s to wear your passions, ideas, and creativity everyday by the way you present yourself. It’s whatever you feel like today, and it’s allowed to change tomorrow.

How would you describe your fashion style?

- I would describe my current style as leaning very street style with some androgyny. It depends on my mood, but normally casual pieces put together in an “extra” way.

Who or what inspires you?

The diversity of humans and their unique personalities is constantly inspiring me.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?

A lot of times I forget to give myself credit for accomplishments because I’m constantly thinking of my bigger goals. I can happily say though that my work has been published a few times, I’ve been on the creative board for a runway show, walked many times, and I continue to meet amazing people everyday.

Describe some struggles you’ve had and how they’ve changed you:

-I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety since I was a teen or even knew much about either. Some days it’s a struggle to even pull yourself out of bed, let alone get prepared for a shoot surrounded by people. But every time someone reaches out to me to tell me they appreciate my work, ask for advice, or to tell me they have high hopes for me, it helps me just that little bit.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

- This shouldn’t seem like a hard question, but it does. I think what makes me an attractive person is how I can communicate with people through my art whether that’s a photo, painting, clothing, etc.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

- I would say that confidence is hard to find but easy to mask. Half of the time when I seem most confident, I’m secretly shaking and dying inside. It’s hard to be truly confident, but the best thing you can do is trust in yourself. You’ve gotten this far, you’re one of a kind, and you’re worthy.
