Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
Hi! I'm Ashley Elizabeth from Boston. I am heavily involved in the Boston fitness community and love to show that women of all shapes and sizes can be fit and sexy. A little bit about me: I am currently a Talent Acquisition Manager for an investment management firm and am a huge finance nerd. I also love modeling and leveraging the creative side of my brain and my dance background. Also, I'm a dogg mom to a black lab named Logan who is the apple of my eye.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I am fairly new to the modeling scene as an adult. It took me a while to be comfortable with the term 'model' honestly. I truly enjoy working with brands and building awareness and love that I've been given opportunities to work with local brands in Boston as an independent model and brand ambassador.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is that I can help any girl become more confident in their own body through my pictures. I love that I'm not a "standard" model body type and think that is what makes me unique! My dream would be that I can inspire girls to feel the same.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
It's EVERYTHING! Self acceptance and self love is something I learned all too late in life. You have to love yourself inside before you can change anything out. I think the most beautiful people I've ever met and who inspire me are the ones who are comfortable in their own skin and confident within themselves. Embrace yourself and the diverse perspective you give to the world.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I'm a huge sneakerhead. I live in Nike sneakers but I also love to get glam so I guess my style is that I'm not afraid to make a fashion statement, either in the gym or at the office.
Who or what inspires you?
Women entrepreneurs.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Practice!! It takes a while to understand different angles that work for you and to feel comfortable behind the camera. Take a million self timer pictures and if one doesn't come out great, then don't focus on it. Just delete and move on. There will be a great shot if you keep practicing.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
I recently ended a 4 year long toxic and emotionally abusive relationship. I am so thankful to have gone through it because it has put me on this path to gain back control of my life and my self confidence. It has snowballed into pursuing opportunities that I honestly never dreamed of and it all started from learning how to love myself again and not seek outside validation. I've learned that I am me and that is ENOUGH.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
My outlook on life and loving personality. I also love that I am confident in myself but also remain humble. Practicing gratitude is something I am very mindful of and I am so thankful for the opportunity to partner with agencies like Hannah Noelle.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
You are a bada**. Look yourself in the mirror and tell it to yourself every day until you believe it. It's amazing how you talk to yourself will change your perspective one day at a time. Also, write down your goals. It's scientifically proven that writing down your goals makes you more likely to achieve them and nothing builds confidence like achieving the goals you set out for yourself.
