Tell us about yourself/ where are you from, age, whatever you want to add.

My name is Amirah Daniels I am 18 years old. I was born in Ethiopia and moved to the states when I was seven years old. I love singing and acting. I also love photography and through it being able to capture the beauty in everyday life.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

Being signed now to an agency is very different for me. I usually do simple photo shoots for my Instagram and through that I began to see how much I really enjoyed being in front of the camera. Modeling kind of slowly grew into a passion over time for me. So as the passion grew I decided to start filling out forms to be scouted by agencies.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to become a successful model and actress. I dream of using my success to pour back into those who don’t have much. I want to build homes, schools, and hospitals in places around the world who lack these things. My biggest dream is to leave a positive impact on the world.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

What being your own kind of beautiful means to me is that you love not only the good things about yourself but you learn to love your flaws as well. It means to be confident in the skin you were born into and embracing the things that make you different or stand out.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style would be classy and comfy. I am an old soul so I love different vintage looks. Whatever it is I just have to feel comfortable in it.

Who or what inspires you?

I definitely would have to say that my dad inspires me the most. His heart is made of gold, he’s always searching for an opportunity to be a blessing to others. He leads with love and always makes people feel cared for even when he might be going through something. Another person that inspires me is my grandma in Ethiopia. Even though she is no longer here she still inspires and her words of wisdom and encouragement push me to be the best me I can be.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice is not to be scared to put yourself out there. Be confident in yourself. If modeling is something you are passionate about to never allow anything or anyone stop you from chasing your dreams.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you?

A huge obstacle that I hade to overcome is beginning to sing again with more confidence. I had a person who was supposed to support me and lift me up tear me down about my voice, they told me I shouldn’t sing and I listened. I gave them the power and I allowed fear to stop me from singing. But slowly I am gaining my confidence back and my voice back. I was so insecure as a person about how I looked, I felt like I always had to wear makeup or maintain a perfect weight. I surrounded myself with friends who thought being over a certain weight was not good. It shaped me as a person because it taught me to stop letting others speak into my life, and to start speaking into my own life. To start living life the way I wanted and to love myself the way I am.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I believe that my heart makes me beautiful, the type of person I’ve chosen to be. As much as a lot of people might believe beauty is on the outside, I personally believe what makes me beautiful is who I am on the inside.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Don’t compare yourself to others. Don’t allow society to tell you what beauty is. Learning to love yourself can be hard but once you do no one else’s opinion of you will matter and you will begin to live life for yourself and not others.
