Hey, this is Shuangyi Yang. I am a Chinese and graduated from UIUC in 2013. I moved to Chicago for work last year. I was a journalist and magazine model for eight years. I've interviewed a lot of celebrities , and I've had a lot of stage and screen experience. I've been to 50 countries around the world.

What is your biggest dream?

People leave their names behind. I want to be a celebrity, on stage, all eyes on me. It's been my biggest dream since I was a kid.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

The greatest beauty is to have a positive attitude towards life, to be passionate about your dreams, and to be confident in yourself.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Wear clothes that are right for you, clothes that say something about you, clothes that are comfortable for you and clothes that are contemporary.

Who or what inspires you?

My biggest idol is Kobe Bryant. He inspired me to study sports media and become a sports reporter, which brought me to the United States. Become a professional model. "Somebody's going to win, so why not me?" Bryant said.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

First, be confident in yourself and be able to love yourself and appreciate your beauty. The second is to love the stage, not afraid of the camera. Then there is the discipline to maintain the perfect body and aura.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Public opinion pressure is my biggest obstacle, I used to date with Chinese Celebrities and had a lot of gossips. Then every day to improve yourself a little bit, so that you become stronger. If there is a shadow behind you, it is because you are facing the sun.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

Believe in yourself, believe in destiny, and love yourself.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

The creator made people, everyone is different, everyone has a point, is the gold will shine.
