Tell us about yourself

Hi, My name is Azriel but most everyone I know calls me Azi! I’m currently a senior in high school at a public school in North Little Rock, Arkansas. I’m 17 years old and will be 18 on June 1st, making me a gemini. Some hobbies of mine include reading, mainly romance but I love an occasional mystery or thriller, shopping, traveling when I have the chance, and trying new restaurants. I like to think i’m a mix between introverted and extroverted, just depends on my environment. I’m so excited to start this new journey and can’t wait to see where it goes!

Tell us about your modeling experience. :

I don’t have much experience on my plate but I’ve always loved social media and taking pictures for different socials. When I was younger I did some different shoots that my mom would put me in but nothing recent!

What is your biggest dream? :

If i’m being completely honest modeling and acting is probably my biggest dream but ever since I was young i’ve always been told I was too shy so my more realistic dream was to either go to college to study architecture & design or film & production!

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?:

Being your own kind of beautiful isn’t about how much makeup you wear or don’t wear but about how you perceive yourself. You’re never truly beautiful until you actually believe it from your own soul. And i’m not one to say i’ve complete fallen in love with myself but i’m putting in the work so that one day I too can be my own kind of beautiful.

How would you describe your fashion style? :

I’m my opinion fashion is an expression of how confident you are. So I really have no one singular style. I tend to feel my best in more basic pieces that are easy to grab out of my closet and throw on. But other times I like getting a bit more wild and adding an unusual sweater of pop of color in order to spice it up. No matter what I wear though I always make sure I feel my best because when I feel my best I perform my best!

Who or what inspires you? :

This question is hard for me because so many people inspire me. From my parents, to friends, to teachers, to celebrities, to strangers. I don’t believe that there’s one singular person that’s inspired me into the person I am today. But if I had to pick one person it would probably be Harry Styles. From being a One Direction fan to a solo Harry fan I have watched him break many societal boundaries and it’s truly inspiring. Watching him online has showed me how much confidence he has in himself and that’s truly what i’m striving for.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling? :

Since I haven’t had much experience I don’t think I have the best judgement but some good advice I’ve heard over time through research and more is that being yourself is the best thing to be in this industry.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you. :

A few years ago I started my battle with depression and it takes a toll on you for sure. There were weekends where I didn’t even get out of bed to wash my face. Depression is no joke and has serious impacts on both your body and mind. But luckily I have an amazing support system from my parents and I was able to the the help I needed. I wont say that I still don’t have bad days, because trust me I do, but I’m learning how to cope so that hopefully one day I can say this was a thing of the past. Even though I’m still going trough this challenge I know that i’ve become a stronger person and will only continue to grow.

What makes you beautiful/handsome? :

I think my heart makes me beautiful. I genuinely believe that I have so much love for people that it’s all consuming. Being beautiful isn’t all about looks but also how you look on the inside. Personally i’ve meet some really pretty people but when you actually get to know them they become less and less pretty just from their sour attitude. And the last thing I want to be is bitter. So if I had to pick one thing I’d say it’s my passion and appreciation for the things and people I love.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence. :

All I can say is that it’s an uphill battle. Some days I wake up with so much confidence that you would never believe I suffer from self doubt then the next day it could be the complete opposite. So when I say I understand, I mean it.  There’s no cure to self hate but there are are resources you can reach out to. Just know that a bad day doesn’t mean and bad life so if you need to just take a day off and retry tomorrow then please do so. You are beautiful, I promise!
