Tell us about yourself
Currently, I am an undergraduate, honors student at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I have a double major in Communication Sciences and Disorders & Spanish, with the goal of becoming a bilingual speech pathologist in a hospital. I hold myself to a high academic standard, and am proud to have been on the Dean’s List every semester. When I’m not at school, you may find me at the gym, baking my famous 4 layer chocolate cake, or competing in a pageant! I’m honored to have been the 2021 Outstanding American Miss and 2019 Teen Miss McHenry County. I also placed 4th runner up in Miss Wisconsin USA 2022 and Top 10 in Miss Illinois USA 2021. I am so excited to continue working towards my dream of competing in Miss USA one day!
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I have been modeling for the past two years, and am so grateful for every opportunity I’ve received. I took acting and modeling classes for one year, and later signed with MTM Chicago and Everything Formals Model Management. I’ve traveled across the country to model in runway shows, bridal markets, photoshoots, and commercials. My favorite part about modeling is getting to know the designers, brands, photographers, and fellow models. I love to be creative to get the best shot or highlight a look for a designer or brand. Being in front of the camera allows me to show my confidence and passion for this career. I look forward to continuing my growth and experience!
What is your biggest dream?
Ever since I was little, I have always dreamt of becoming a full time model. I imagined seeing myself on the cover of VOGUE, walking in New York or Milan Fashion Week, or being the face of a makeup brand in Ulta or Sephora. I am so proud of everything I have achieved so far in my career, and I will continue to work hard in hopes of achieving these dreams one day!
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being beautiful comes from the heart. A beautiful person loves themselves, and inspires others to do the same. This means embracing what makes you unique without comparing yourself to others, and knowing that God made you, you for a reason! True beauty is when people uplift and support each other to be their best selves. No one is perfect and everyone has room to grow. We are the most beautiful when we help each other thrive.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would describe my style as versatile. I love dressing up in a dress and heels, but also love a more casual outfit with sneakers. I love wearing jewel tones, which I feel compliment my eyes, hair, and skin tone perfectly! I always enjoy trying out new silhouettes, textures, and patterns.
Who or what inspires you?
Elle Smith, Miss USA 2021, is one of my biggest role models! I had the honor of meeting Elle at a JOVANI fashion party in Atlanta, GA, where we talked about all things pageantry. She has had great success in a short period of time, which shows how hardworking and dedicated she is toward her goals. Elle is such a genuine and kindhearted person, but she also knows how to be fierce on stage. Her confidence is always present, and this is something I always try to embody as well!
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Try your best to take every opportunity that comes your way! This is a great way to gain experience and find what you love doing most in the industry. It is also important to make connections and be friendly to everyone you meet. In my personal experience, I’ve been offered multiple jobs from the same designer because of my strong work ethic and my respect towards everyone. Kindness never goes unnoticed!
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
One of the biggest obstacles I have faced was my grandma passing away in 2021. Although it is challenging to lose to a loved one, she was, and will continue to be, my biggest supporter. She played a huge part in my upbringing. Due to her impact, I have become the strong, confident woman I always wanted to be. I strive to achieve my goals and remain resilient through challenges. I am kind, caring, and am devoted to being a role model in my community. Most importantly, I maintain a strong relationship with my family. I carry on my grandma’s legacy by continuing to cook some of her best recipes, sewing my own clothes, and never missing a chance to dance!
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I am beautiful because I am genuine and passionate about making others see their beauty as well. I feel most beautiful when I am able to help others. I have spent hundreds of hours volunteering with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, and it is so fulfilling to know that I can inspire little girls to love themselves and strive towards achieving their dreams.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I would tell them that gaining confidence starts with doing the things you love and surrounding yourself with people that support you. This is so important in boosting confidence and self- esteem! I would also advise them to find what makes them happy about themselves, rather than picking out little flaws. We all have imperfections, but that is what makes us special in our own way. Finding confidence means embracing every difference and loving who you are.
