Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have always loved fashion, dressing up, and taking pictures with my friends. So when I was about 16 years old I worked at a surf shop in my hometown Beaufort, South Carolina. There I got the freedom to take pictures of some of the clothes we got shipped to the store for our Instagram. Another thing I would do is help model for a lot of my friends who were developing their own clothing brands. It was when I was about 18 years old, I discovered that I would absolutely love to do this all the time. It wasn’t until I moved to Columbia when I was 20 I was officially signed to a mother agency after submitting an application online. After that I’ve been gaining so much experience, meeting new people, traveling to new amazing places,  and overall having so much fun modeling.

What is your biggest dream?

I have a few major goals in my life that I definitely want to accomplish. One of my biggest dreams would be getting to work with designers whom I’ve admired for a long time! Some of them being Marcelo Gaia (Mirror Palasis), Olivier Rousteing (Balmain), and Anthony Vaccarello (YSL).

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beautiful to me can be shown through a smile. I say that because I think there is nothing more beautiful than genuine happiness. I love to spread positivity throughout my daily interactions with people whether it’s telling someone to have a nice day or complimenting the outfit they are wearing.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My style is always evolving. One day I might gravitate towards a grungier early 00s look. The next day I may go for a girlier look with some tights a cardigan, and a mini skirt. However what is always consistent is my inspiration from 90s super models. I absolutely love the all round aesthetic of the time period and try to incorporate a little bit of nostalgia into my outfits.

Who or what inspires you?

There are so many things that inspire me everyday. Things ranging from feelings to music to colors, or even sometimes inanimate objects. Also seeing some of my beautiful girlfriends in the industry flourish had inspired me a lot as well.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice to someone that is getting started with modeling is to go to every casting opportunity you see! Network as much as possible to find any connections that you could use to you benefit. More importantly have confidence! Things tend to take time especially in the industry, just trust the process and that everything will happen for a reason.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

When I was younger I had major social issues, I was a very shy kid. Even to this day I still struggle with feeling shy especially in new places. The way I overcame this was overtime through sports teams and friend groups. Spending time getting to know and be comfortable with myself made me open up to the person I am today.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I could say something about my physical beauty but what makes me beautiful is my inner beauty. My character is something I take pride in. I love when I’m able to make other people smile on or off set.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Everything you see in social media is not real and the unrealistic beauty standards that society continues to press on us is unattainable. It is important to be comfortable in your own skin, everyone is their own unique kind of beautiful.
