Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

I’m Alannah Weeks. I’m from Long Island, NY and I’m nineteen. I grew up with a passion for Irish Dancing and painting. I shortly moved on from dance to pursue other things in the arts. I love movies, reading, writing, and drawing. I also love old antiques, vintage things, going out to the movies, candy, and dystopian novels. Besides that, I’ve always had inspiration to do something more with myself as I started to take interest in modeling.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

Honestly, I can’t say much because I’ve only just started but so far I’ve been nothing but excited to begin. I can’t wait to see where it takes me.

What is your biggest dream?

To be happy with who I am, and to be genuinely happy with everything in life. I would like to travel more and do big things with my family.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

It means being who you are without letting the thoughts of others get to you. It’s allowing yourself to be weird and be yourself without any care in the world. It’s no longer trying to figure out how other people are thinking about you. It means being free with who you are. I think that’s when people really start to radiate their beauty.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I like all different types of fashion, but at home I dress mostly in sweatpants and a sweatshirt. When I go out, I like to dress casual depending on the event. I always love getting to dress up in a cute dress.

Who or what inspires you?

My family definitely inspires me. They tell me to do whatever makes me happy. I’m glad that I have a great family who supports me.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice would be to just keep going and getting yourself out there. Once you get yourself out there, you keep going.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

When I left dance I didn’t really know what to do with myself. Irish Dance has been a huge part of my life, and although it wasn’t necessarily an obstacle, I had to find other parts of who I was in order to grow as a person. I had to brand myself into who I really was, and I’m still in the process of doing that. Dance took up a lot of my time, and I couldn’t do a lot of things because of that. After dance, I made new friends, adventures, life lessons, and found out new things about me. And the hardest part has been trying to move on from dance, because there’s times I miss it. Irish Dance taught me a lot, and gave me opportunity to be who I was on stage with my second family. So leaving dance was hard, but I allowed myself to go out more and do new things, especially in art.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I think my soul is what makes me beautiful. When someone’s soul is beautiful, they automatically become beautiful inside and out. I think I have a good heart, and I think I’m very genuine and honest. I think deeply about things and I wish the best for a lot of people, whether they deserve it or not. I’m a very raw person, I don’t hide anything, and sometimes that scares people. I’m not afraid to be who I am, and some people can’t handle that. I think me being who I am is what makes me beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would tell them that they are beautiful and that they shouldn’t be worried about their appearance. It’s not all about appearance but what’s inside that matters. I think the first step into overcoming the struggle with confidence is finding a part of yourself you love the most. And everyday, find more things to love, whether it be inside or out.
