Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

I grew up in a family of 14 siblings in Minneapolis, MN.  I’ve always had a love for Arts.  To me art is unlimited outside the box, being creative, or a way to convey a message and I express them through fashion, modeling, baking, makeup, and drawing.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

During my modeling journey I was given the opportunity to walk for Fresh Tradition, AVIVO, Black Fashion Week MN and Fashion Week MN x Energy Gear. I’ve worked with local businesses, photographers, Hair and makeup artists, models and designers. I was also featured in MODStyle Fashion Magazine, DREAMY Magazine, and Sarze Magazine.

I cannot express how thankful I am to have met so many talented artists and professionals.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be remembered. I want to be an inspiration for anyone who has a dream.  No matter where you came from or what you’ve been through.  I hope that one day people will look at a magazine and say, “That’s Rose! She is so inspiring!”

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Beauty is not only limited to our appearance; it is the ability to accept yourself and free yourself from humans’ expectation of beauty. Everyone’s born unique and once you find that about you, you’ll see the world in a different way. Your smallest achievement, your kind heart, your confidence will be the beauty of you. Love yourself.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion is a mixer of comfortable, classic, cute, street, and elegant.

Who or what inspires you?

In my life I have drawn inspiration from everyone and everything that comes my way.  From the big things like my family and friends to the little things like a quote or a Pinterest photo.  Looking at other work has also inspired me to pursue this career.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

To understand that your journey will be different from everyone. Take it one day at a time and don’t get discouraged by what other people say or think about you. Instead, be thankful for meeting new people and opportunities that come your way. Allow yourself to face challenges to advance you to the next level, be consistent, have self-discipline, keep moving forward and when you fail, try again. Just know that you are an amazing person and capable.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you

One of my biggest challenges was making a decision to become a full-time day trader and give up my baking career.  To go from a steady income to a risky income was something that my parents and myself would not have approved of.  Somehow, I was able to make it work and by taking that leap to not continue an ordinary job led me to find the confidence to pursue this modeling career.  I now see that I can make any situation work if I put my time and energy into it.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

What makes me beautiful is my kindness when I am around people. I make everyone around me beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Confidence doesn’t come instantly, but it is built through experience.  If you have a dream, chase it even if it is scary, use fear as the motivation.  Use rejection as a starting point, and eventually you will have too much experience to not have confidence.
