Tell us about yourself.
Hi my name is Carly Duncan. I am 18 years old. Born and raised in the sunny state of Florida. If I'm not at the gym, I'm down at the beach soaking up the sun and salty air.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
From the fashion shows thrown in my childhood best friends room to the stylish photo shoots taken with my girls, I've always loved modeling. But it wasn't till this year I started to take action with my love for modeling. A local Tampa photographer by the name of Becky Tarone took my senior portraits and expressed to me how she felt that I was a natural model which lead me to being invited to do her styled shoots and working alongside her.
What is your biggest dream?
Everyone can want and dream of the things that might make the happy life for them but I'd like to say I'm living my biggest dream. I have loving supportive people surrounding me, I wake up every morning living in paradise. Nothing more I could ask for.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To be Beautiful can mean many things. To me being your own kind of beautiful means being your most true confident self.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Athletic wear, boho be-achy, high fashion, you name it. Just choosing one would be impossible. I'd like to say I describe my fashion style to what ever makes me feel the most confident in.
Who or what inspires you?
The person that inspires me the most would be my Sister-In-Law Carissa. I look up to her not only because of her dedication, but also because of the way she showed that it is possible to be successful while not attending college. She now has her own wedding business and is excelling more than ever.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
My advice to someone who is just getting started in modeling would be to just be the best of yourself you can. Modeling comes with a pace of going with the flow and acting natural. Just enjoy it and have fun with it
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Growing up my younger self always seemed to be insecure and think about what others thought about me. It wasn't until I started working out and becoming confident in myself that I was able to see the beauty that lied within me. I feel that modeling has been a way for me to grow more confident and help me to find something i'm passionate about.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I believe that what makes me beautiful is not from the outside but from the inside.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Confidence is hard to grasp in today's world with all the negativity and hurtful words. As you go through life you have to realize that what people think or say won't matter tomorrow. Finding confidence comes from the inside.
