Tell us about yourself.

I am 28 years old and the current Miss Maryland for America Strong. I was born and raised in Chicago but I currently call Maryland my home. In addition to being a model and actress, I am a staunch advocate for women’s health and the CEO of Rich Creatives Media, a production company. I earned my BBM and MBA degrees from St. Bonaventure University where I received a full scholarship to play Division I basketball. Faith, passion, perseverance, and community are pinnacle values I live my life by. In 2023, I am launching a talk show and podcast bringing awareness to infertility, maternal health, and the birth experience.

 What is your biggest dream?

I have many career dreams, but one of my biggest dreams that I believe is connected to my purpose is to be able to help heal women from infertility.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I believe it means to live authentically and unapologetically your truest self. It means to appreciate and have confidence in all the things that make you unique such as your traits, personality, physical features, and voice.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would say my fashion style is versatile. I’m able to adapt to the occasion. If I’m invited to a gala, I enjoy wearing a gown and dressing up. Since modeling I’ve become more comfortable with throwing heels on and making my outfits for any occasion more stylish!

  Who or what inspires you?

My faith in God and in myself inspires me. I’m inspired by the possibilities that life has to offer. You can literally do anything your heart desires, but do you have the faith to believe that it can happen for you? I’m a witness of God’s goodness and promises.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Just get started. Do the photoshoots to gain experience. You only place limits on yourself.  You never know what you can accomplish until you put actions to words. Everything you do is a learning experience and the knowledge you gain from it will take you where you want to be.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I can remember my entire basketball career felt like a struggle at times because I was always battling injury. I tore both ACLs between my senior year of high school and my second year of college. In addition to that, I faced two other minor knee surgeries. After all four surgeries, I had to go through extensive rehab to return to playing basketball. Being able to overcome that has shaped me into becoming a more resilient person. Those injuries took a physical and mental toll on me and I could have easily given up basketball but I chose not to every time.

What makes you beautiful or handsome?

Besides my physical appearance, I believe who I am inside truly makes me beautiful. I believe I have a spark of joy that transcends to others as well as an ability to be empathic makes me beautiful. Beauty is what you say it is and I saw I am beautiful because of my physical features, but most importantly the intentions of my heart.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence.

You are your own worst critic. I challenge you to truly analyze yourself inside and out and write down things you love, appreciate, or are unique about you. Once you get that list, focus on highlighting those things about you. Focus on the good and not the negatives. I promise you will start to become more and more confident in who you are and what you look like.
