Tell us about your modeling experience

Photography has always piqued my interest, and I’ve been inspired by modeling and fashion, but always felt I was too short to participate. For first modeling gig a local photographer came into my job, asked if I modeled, and if she could photograph me. Since that first photoshoot, I’ve used my social platforms to network for other collaborations with photographers, and local brands. I’ve also had the opportunity to walk in various fashion shows, and various modeling events.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to inspire young women, even if it’s just one. I’d love to walk in one or all of the major fashion week events, and collaborate with some of my favorite inspirations, and brands.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful means understanding you are one of one, and that you can be confident in yourself without comparison.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My style is a blend of comfort, sparkle, and I am inspired by the 90s fashion era. I am typically always choosing comfort first, but I love to switch it up by dressing up, and wearing heels gives me life!

Who or what inspires you?

I am inspired by those who are hardworking but also can balance their personal life. I am inspired by those who can push through obstacles and turn it into something beautiful. Some of my inspirations are Beyoncé, Naomi Campbell, and Ashley Graham.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Trust yourself, do what scares you, and put yourself out there. Enjoy yourself! It’s ok if everyone doesn’t love or like you, you will find the community that is for for you.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Overthinking, and feeling stuck or as if I don’t have the tools to success. I’ve learned to sort, and analyze those feelings, to understand where they come from and how I can use it for good. I find that trusting myself, and pushing myself means that sometimes I won’t always feel prepared -but if I couldn’t handle it the opportunity wouldn’t present itself. Trusting my gut has helped me tremendously.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I believe what makes me beautiful is my smile. I believe being kind is important, and it makes me feel good to smile and lift someone up or connect with such a simple gesture.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence

Confidence comes from within but it also comes from practice. Whatever you may believe is a flaw now, could be your favorite part of yourself later. We are constantly growing, and evolving in our journey. Try to love, and accept yourself in the chapter you are in, and not compare to your next chapter, or someone else’s. You are the only you out there!
