Tell us about yourself

My name is Amberlee H. I am 20 years old and from Massachusetts. I attend College and am a double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology with a minor in Education Studies. I am also a flyer on the Stonehill College cheer team. I enjoy playing piano, singing, and spending time with my friends and family.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have done freelance modeling in the past but am excited to become more serious in the field.

What is your biggest dream?

My dream is to have a positive impact on other individuals. No matter one's size, shape, race, ethnicity, etc. everyone is beautiful in their own way. I have struggled in the past with body image and my dream is to have a positive influence on other individuals who have struggled or are struggling with loving themselves just the way they are.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beautiful is being true to yourself despite what role society plays in trying to tell you, you are not. Beauty is not just the physical appearance of an individual but rather the representation of confidence, love and compassion. The outward display of who an individual is.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I traditionally dress in athleisure wear, casual or chic. While I primarily wear these styles, I love branching out - my clothing choice is one of my primary forms of self-expression. When modeling, I enjoy bold pieces. Fierce, striking, captivating articles of clothing that move with my body.

Who or what inspires you?

My mom, Sandra, inspires me. She has always pushed me to be a better person, work hard, and persist even when things get difficult. She helped me spread my wings and become the woman I am today.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Don’t let the fear of failure hold you back. You will be told no a thousand times but use it as fuel to keep persisting. It is the one yes that will transform your life and make the effort, dedication, and commitment all worth it.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I have struggled with not eating enough since I was in high school. I had issues with confidence and always felt the need to change in order to fit what I believed others to see as “beautiful”. This has shaped me into the person I am today as now I have grown into my own person. Loving my imperfections and supporting others who are struggling with the same issues.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

It is not my appearance that makes me beautiful. It is my drive to be the best version of myself that makes an impact on others and leaves the impression of a beautiful person.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

You are not alone. Everyone at one point or another has struggled with low confidence, and while not the most talked upon subject for some, you are not alone. Be kind to yourself, you deserve it <3
