Tell us about yourself

  • Hi! My name is Melissa, I am 18 and from Omaha, Nebraska. I have always tried to find new ways of expressing myself. I like to draw and sew and make bracelets. I love getting creative, doing side projects, and trying new things.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

  • I have modeled for a photographer's portfolio.

What is your biggest dream?

  • My biggest dream is to become an actor that people can look up to. Ultimately I just want to try everything and gain new experiences!

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

  • I think to be your own kind of beautiful is to focus and learn more about your inner self and find what makes you different, special and unique.

How would you describe your fashion style?

  • I would say that my style has a grunge  / clean girl vibe. Even though I like my black whites, and grays. I do love a good color pop!

Who or what inspires you?

  • Something that inspires me is the millions of people everyday that get up,  get out there, get their work done and put in the work to reach their dreams.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

  • Something that I was told when trying to get into modeling was the quote “when you are the most afraid to jump, that is when you should jump.” You can either try to do it, gain the experience, and have fun, or you can regret not trying.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

  • Covid definitely had a big impact on my mental health and schooling, as well as both of my grandparents' passing during that time. I had changed a lot during quarantine and just started becoming who I am today. I wasn't a very confident or a happy person during that time and I was really hard on myself. Over time I've learned to love myself and have confidence in my own body.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

  • Something I think makes me beautiful is how I treat others, being able to put myself in their shoes, and wanting to try to help anyone that I can to achieve their goals.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

  • Don't worry about what other people have to say or think about you, no one knows you like you know yourself, and only you know the true beauty inside of you. Just let it out.
