Tell us about yourself

Hello! My name is Ashley Z. and I am from New Jersey. I am currently 18 years old and am a marketing major.. I grew up experiencing various cultures, living in 4 continents by the age of 14. This unique upbringing truly shaped the woman I have grown to be and traveling is a hobby that continues to inspire me.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

During my final year of high school in the Middle East, I was contacted by a top modeling agency in Kuwait. Though I was nervous and inexperienced, modeling was a life-long ambition of mine and I simply could not pass up the opportunity. After my very first photoshoot, I fell in love with the art of modeling and craved more media-related experiences. Within the span of a few months, I enjoyed modeling everything from clothes to makeup through editorial-style photoshoots and took part in print work (magazines, billboards, etc). After graduating high school and moving to Florida for college, I am beyond thankful to now represent the Hannah Noelle modeling agency!

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to pursue my passion of marketing. Moreover, with my interest in the fashion world, I intend to utilize my acquired business knowledge and creativity skills to work with fashion magazines.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To me, being my own kind of beautiful is acting, speaking, living, and simply being 100% me. I put social media pressures and the act of comparison aside in order to remain organic and authentic. After all, beauty comes from within, not without; and being at peace with your inner-person truly fuels self-confidence and radiates uniqueness.

How would you describe your fashion style?

From platform converse and cargo pants to lace-up heels and bodycon dresses, my fashion style ranges from day to day. Though I love dressing comfy and athletic when attending college classes, I do appreciate a fancy, dolled-up night on the town. All in all, I do enjoy embracing the current style and makeup trends and ensure to keep up-to-date with them!

Who or what inspires you?

My high school English teacher inspires me the most in this world. To explain, in March of 2018, my instructor’s car slid rapidly across black ice in Michigan, physically wedging her car between two large oak trees. From there, she had to re-learn how to talk and walk via intense physical therapy. I remember that my teacher only told me this on my very last day of senior year. This is what left me utterly perplexed, wondering how she, after undergoing a life-altering experience, stood in front of us all year without me ever having the slightest clue that she was essentially paralyzed at one point. This impacted me in more ways than my teacher will ever know, as I now live graciously, knowing that I truly never know what others have experienced in their past and what some may be going through contemporarily.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling is to not overthink anything and simply go for it! My greatest piece of knowledge that I preach on the daily is that everything happens for a reason and I honestly believe that if it’s meant to be, it will be. Therefore, just fully put yourself out there and stay persistent until you land your first job. Overall, if you’re truly passionate about pursuing modeling, no efforts will be unproductive!

. Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Though a blessing, moving around since birth certainly contributed to some struggles that have greatly shaped me. Moving to a foreign country every three years ultimately forced me to adapt to many different cultures, religions, and peoples. However, it was my unique upbringing that molded me into the spontaneous, flexible, and widely accepting woman I am today. Nowadays, I am always dragging my friends with me to try new foods, go on adventures, and appreciate the little things in life.

10. What makes you beautiful/handsome?

My personality is what makes me beautiful. Growing up a theater kid, I’ve always had a bigger than life personality and love being under the spotlight. I am an overly optimistic person who loves to laugh and take on challenges every single day.

10. What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Though it’s easier said than done, just be you! Every single person has insecurities, but you cannot let these uncontrollable so-called “flaws” bring you down and prevent you from living your fullest life. There is something unique about each and every individual on this planet and the fact that no-two people are the same is what makes us all so special.
