Tell us about yourself

My name is Kailiah P, I am 16 years old, and I am from Oregon. I've been traveling all over the world since I was a baby and it has continued to be my favorite activity to this day. I love to surf and I have gotten to check out the surf from places ranging from my home on the Oregon coast to the hot shores of Costa Rica. I love to explore the various parts of the world I find myself in and the animals that take up those areas. I am a huge animal lover having 18 pets! You can find me outside among luscious greenery or wherever the animals roam.

Tell us about your modeling experience

As a kid I modeled for JCpenneys and Macys but started commercial modeling for local clothing brands as an early teen. At 15 I started working with an agency who completely overlooked me as not only a model but a person. They treated me as if I was not worthy, and I started to feel like I wasn't before I had the courage to leave them and find Hannah Noelle. 16 I was called into the world of fashion and have been working with creative minds on fashion photo shoots. I have worked with two previous agencies for commercial, print, and fashion modeling and I love working with any of these areas. Hannah Noelle was the perfect opportunity for me to work with the three. I gratefully make the best out of any creative opportunity I receive while having a fun time.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream isn't a job or a title but a purpose in life. My biggest dream is to make someone's if not multiple people's experience in this life meaningful. My dream is to make people feel special, seen, and heard.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful is a self belief. Beauty is a standard set by mankind and kept up with by society. Standards change and expectations get exclusive as society grows. To be your own kind of beautiful is not to meet previous set standards, but to believe that you yourself are already your own standard. You are beautiful not because you have a small waist or button nose, but because you are your own unique person.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style can be described as boho, granola, street wear, earthy, and slightly grunge. But as a fashion lover I love dressing outside of my personal style and taking on new looks and trends.

Who or what inspires you?

I am inspired by my mother. My mother is a magnificent woman who has overcome every hardship head on and come out stronger in the end. My mother will take on any challenge with motivation and dedication. In this way I work every day to be just like her and when I am down, I look up to her image to never give up.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice is that you have to fight for yourself. If you truly love modeling and want to model, you have to work to advocate for yourself. Not everyone is gonna want you, and not everyone is gonna believe in you. But if you keep pushing, you will find a person or an agency that recognizes your potential and will help you get where you want to be. Don't give up on something you truly want, because if you want it bad enough, you WILL get there.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I have lost many loved ones in my short span of 16 years. Family, friends, classmates, all taken too soon. These losses have shaped me into the person I am to this day. Losing someone, losing many, makes you realize how fragile this life is. This life can be taken from your hands in a split second. I have learned from the loss to seize every opportunity I receive. I will live every moment with purpose for my lost loved ones, and because of them.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I am beautiful because of my mind. Anyone can be good looking but you aren't truly beautiful if you have a dull mind. My beauty is my intelligence, my wit, my patience, and my compassion. I am beautiful because my mind is beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

One thing that helped me with my confidence in times of struggle was the phrase "fake it till you make it". It sounds so simple and some might find it useless. But if you truly apply it to yourself, I promise it will make a difference. The thing about confidence is that nobody but you knows if it's real or not. If you walk with confidence every around you is going to believe you are confident, so why don't you. I promise eventually you will. Fake it till you make it.
