Tell us about yourself.

Hi! My name is Carly LaRosa and I am from South Jersey, right outside of Philadelphia. I am 25 years old and am also receiving my masters degree in social work. For my modeling experience I have had a couple photo shoots including a swim suit shoot as well as runway experience through competing in Miss New Jersey USA.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream would be able to bring light to people that are in dark places, whether that be through modeling gigs or my social work career.

What does “be your own kind of beautiful” mean to you?

To be your own kind of beautiful to me is to embrace the things that you are passionate about and not worry what others think of it.

Describe your fashion style.

To be honest, my fashion style does fall more on the athleisure side, but also go for a more classy look when going out. I’m definitely still learning more about my own fashion sense.

Who or what inspires you?

My faith is the biggest inspiration in my life. Without my relationship with Christ, I would not be where I am today.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice to someone who just starting to get into modeling would be to not give up even when receiving a lot of no’s, and when receiving those no’s to remember that you are so much more than that no. I fully believe it’s more of a redirection and not rejection and this has been helpful for me on my modeling journey.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

An obstacle I have had to overcome is I recently tore my ACL and had to receive surgery in November of 2022. As an active person, this was really difficult for me to sit  and had to rely more on others to help. I realized in this time of my life how much I put my own identity in being able to work out and be fit and when that wasn’t there, I felt terrible about myself. I had to learn I am way more than what the scales number say. I think what makes me beautiful is my compassion for people. I want others to feel heard, seen, and loved and I think it’s a beautiful thing to give rather than to receive.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

What I would say to another guy or girl struggling with confidence is that there truly is no one on this earth that is like you. You alone have such a big purpose that no one else can give except you.
