 Tell us about yourself :

Hi! I'm Keilah (pronounced key-luh). When I'm not modeling and acting, I spend my time going to school, I attempt to play my guitar, and I love traveling. I'm a published writer and I love a hot cup of coffee to accompany me in everything that I do. I value kindness and hard work and make an effort to implement those qualities into everything that I do. Fun fact: I have lived in Florida, Arizona, Alabama, Ohio, Texas, Illinois, and I spent a summer in Africa. It was the best summer of my entire life!

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I began modeling as a teenager, with my first experience being on the runway. I fell in love! I've walked for several runway shows and some of my favorite designers were Althea Harper (Project Runway) and Laura Kirkpatrick (from America's Next Top Model). I have modeled for Fey & Co. Jewelry, Harvest Snaps Snacks, Office Max, and I played a runway model in the feature film The Last Witch Hunter (featuring Vin Diesel, Rose Leslie, and Elijah Wood). I've done 4 ALDI commercials and I am in the Horse Camp series on Amazon Prime. I recently modeled for Evelyn's Bridal and La Divine/Leo and Andrea Couture.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream for modeling is to walk in NYFW (it hasn't happened...yet!) and for writing, I hope to publish several books!

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I think we all must embrace our individuality and uniqueness. Personally, I think people who are confident in their own skin are beautiful and our unique quirks is what makes us special!

How would you describe your fashion style?

I love anything fun and feminine and especially dresses with fun sleeves and pockets (I just love pockets!). I feel like my fashion style changes depending on my mood, or the season of life that I'm in but I always love cute, sophisticated feminine styles and bold styles. I am also a sucker for some cool minimalism.

Who or what inspires you?

I'm inspired by people who never give up. I'm drawn to people's stories about persevering despite seemingly every circumstance stacked against  them.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

I would tell a beginning model to do their research. Research will help guide them to avoid mistakes, know what to expect, and understand the ins and outs of the industry. I also would tell the budding model to embrace their quirks, uniqueness, and work it to their advantage and to never let rejection affect them personally. I'd tell them that even the best of the best models face rejection, but overcoming rejection and pressing on is what is needed to be successful.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I moved a lot growing up. I've lived in a total of 6 states and while that was hard, it had some great benefits. While being the "new kid" is never easy (especially when they make fun of your "weird" accent), I learned how to become flexible and adapt to new people and environments on the plus side. I've had the benefit of living all over the country and it has taught me to be a flexible person who can quickly adapt.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I'm comfortable in my own skin. I think embracing/loving yourself despite your flaws or shortcomings is important, because I think then you can love others well. I think being loving and kind is the most beautiful quality any person can possess.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I'm a Christian and so I believe that every person was made by God for a special purpose. We each have a specific purpose for being alive and God made us exactly the way we are because the world needs us to do what we are created to do! Out of billions of people on the earth, there is only one of you with your specific looks, talents, and qualities. I'd tell the person struggling with confidence to embrace their uniqueness and encourage them to remember that their life matters and God has good plans for them!
