Tell us about yourself

My name is Greta W. and I am from a small town located between Boston and Cape Cod. I am nineteen years old and am a sophomore in college studying business and mediated communication. Growing up I have always been involved in sports. I played soccer and swam competitively since I was in elementary school up through high school. In college, I am now part of my school’s cheerleading team. I love trying new things that are out of my typical comfort zone, which actually led me to take this next step with modeling.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

To be honest, this is the beginning for me! When I was much younger, I did some work with a Boston based agency. Unfortunately, I did not get into anything serious past this with being so young, my involvement with sports, and of course being a full time student. I was not able to dedicate the time or money that was needed to try to make a career for myself. Now that I am older, while I am not any less busy, I want to put myself back out there and make the most of every opportunity I can get.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be a role model for the younger generation and women in general. I want to inspire them to chase after their dreams no matter how close or far they may seem. I want to do this by achieving some goals while I am in the modeling industry, as I am on the shorter side when it comes to models. I also want to mind myself truly happy and successful in a career that I genuinely love. I feel that I can never quite pinpoint exactly what I want to do with my life, simply because I am constantly wanting to do everything. Because of this, it was hard for me to pick one major to stick with in college because I have so many interests. I hope that someday I am able to travel and see the world, while also raising a happy and healthy family. My one wish is to make a positive lasting impact on as many people in the world as possible while achieving my personal goals.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To me, being your “own kind of beautiful” means so much more than just being “beautiful”. When I hear or see this phrase, the first word that comes to my mind is “genuine”. Everyone has their own definition of beauty and what it means to be beautiful, but I think that when someone is genuine and authentically themselves, that is beautiful. Being your own kind of beautiful is about expressing your true inner self, and has very little to do with a person’s physical appearance.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would say my fashion style is extremely versatile. I am very open to trying new styles and trying out new trends as they come along. However, if I had to label my day to day look, I would have to say my style is a mix of athleisure, girly girl, and chic. A summer staple you will find in my closet are a ton of skirts. As for the colder months, you can expect more comfy clothes and cute boots. As a college student and athlete, you will probably catch me wearing sneakers on a typical day, but that doesn’t mean I don't love a good high heel moment!

Who or what inspires you?

While it may sound cliche, I would have to say my parents. They have both always encouraged me that no matter how down I am on myself or how upset I may be, to never give up, and there are always brighter days ahead. They have always inspired me to chase after my dreams. My dad inspired my strong work ethic and my mom inspired my morals. Not only do they inspire me to make the most out of my own life, but I hope I am one day fortunate enough to give back all they’ve given to me and more. I am forever grateful to have been raised by them.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

As I mentioned, I do not have much experience myself. Although, I would tell them to “do it anyway”. There is no reason to ever hold yourself back from something that you are interested in doing. To be honest, I did not think I would ever get this opportunity for several reasons, mainly because of my height. By getting the chance to sign with Hannah Noelle, it showed me that I really am capable of doing things I never would have thought could be possible. There was never a reason I should have ever doubted or discredited myself, and same goes for you.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

As I reflect on my life, there is one big moment that really sticks out in my mind, and that is loss. Sometimes when you lose someone or something you love, it changes your entire perspective. Some things are unfortunately out of our control when it comes to misfortune. However, what we can control is the way we respond to these types of life altering events. This took me a while to learn, but as I matured through experience, I’ve come to realize that everything truly does happen for a reason. While things may not make sense in the current moment, overtime, things will eventually work out the way they are supposed to, and it may become more clear as to why things played out the way they did.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

What makes me beautiful? This may sound odd at first, but I think the way I am able to experience emotion so deeply is beautiful. I will admit, this does not always work to my advantage. When I am not feeling my best or something sad happens in my life, I feel such a deep sadness. This might not sound so glamorous, but on the flip side, when I am happy, I am able to experience so much genuine joy. My absolute favorite is when I am able to feel so much love, whether it be from my family, friends, or a partner. So yes, sometimes it is hard when I feel an intense wave of sadness, but without feeling such intense emotions, I would not be able to receive and share the amount of love and happiness that I am able to. With that being said, I find that my ability to feel every emotion so deeply is beautiful, and I honestly would not want it any other way.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would give them positive feedback and remind them of how special they are. Everyone is so unique in so many different ways and that’s what makes us special. I would tell them how much they mean to be along with reasons about why I love them. I would encourage them to prioritize self care and try out some affirmations. We all struggle at times, and sometimes a little push can go a long way!
