Tell us about yourself.

My name is Hallaura M. 21 years old. I was born in Haiti but I left when I was 2 years old to live in Montreal, Canada. I had to move this summer from Montreal to Boston for school because I have been admitted into to do my bachelor in Marketing. I am a freshman this year. I am also an allstars cheerleader. Back in Montreal I was with Flyers Allstars. With this association I get to represent the Canada and Montreal in the Cheerleading World Championship where my team finished 2nd in the world last season, silver champion. Even if I quit Montreal, I am still cheering with a really good association called ECE, East Celebrity Elite and I will be attending the world championship this year also if we receive an invitation. This is all about me, because my life is school and cheerleading. I always had a really big crush on modeling ; I started in Montreal when I was about 17 but when I had opportunities to travel I had to decline because I was too young, but now I think it is the perfect timing.

What is your biggest dream :

It may sound cheesy, but my biggest dream is to leave something for the world. In other word, I was to mark the world, I want to do something positive so when I leave they’ll remember me. This is the exact reason why I changed from studying in medicine and going in Marketing. There is more visibility as working in Marketing. I want to create publicity, poster, adds that will give good, powerful and positive image for the next generation and the social media are really important in our era. With cheerleading also I always try to be the best, the most positive to prove that not all cheerleader have a bad temper or are snob.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful :

Everyone is unique, we are all different. Of course we have some similarities for example all the black hair girls have black hair, but they all have texture that are different, some are straight, some curly, some wavy etc. All of this to say that even in the similarities some things are going to be different and it is really important to love and to cherish every part of us that is different because this is beauty. Beauty is the unique thing that you have that makes people look at you and makes you stand out and have an edge. This is my definition of own kind of beautiful, because there is not one kind of beautiful and it is really important to break this kind of thinking.

Tell us about your Modeling experience

My experience in professional modeling is short, because I started really late. I always wanted to be in the industry, but I had really over protective parent and I think my body was changing a lot I was working a lot on it to so I started late. With that being said, I have experience in photoshoot modeling with ACM, an agency in Montreal. I also have a lot of experience in college modeling, because during my 3 years of college I use to help the student in art to create their photography portfolio and the stylist student for their runway show at the end of the semester and I loved it.

What is your dream brand to model for :

I would say Guess. This is my dream brand because the Guess model are so feminine and attractive and there is a little bit of sexual vibe in the pictures that I am really good at giving and I love giving it. They have something in their eyes that makes you look at the picture.

How would you describe your fashion style :

I am really classy-sexy. I always mix classic clothes like blazers, skirt, working pants in tissue or blazers with something more feminine like heels, bralette, high waist belt.

How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life :

These two things are my moto, my go-to everyday words. My opinion is that if you want to achieve something in life, you need to achieve something with yourself. If you want people to see you, to appreciate you and to trust you, you need to see yourself as the best version of you, you need to appreciate everything about yourself or work hard to be able to do it and you need to trust yourself as hard as you can. While doing this some people with try to break you or call you snob, but I think that everything start with confidence and self-awareness.

What makes you beautiful/handsome :

I would say my smile, my energy and my confidence. I don’t want to be beautiful or handsome for a part of my body because body changes everyday, but your smile, the vibe that you have, the energy that you give and your confidence can never leave you.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence :

I would tell them that it’s okay, but that he/she needs to take sometime to look at hisself in the mirror and make a list of everything he/she likes and what makes him/her unique. To do this every morning before he/she starts his day and keep saying it all day long. And I would say to fake it until you make it. In other word, fake your confidence and your smile and at some point you’ll get you use to it plus the compliment that you are saying to yourself that you will fall in love with yourself and the fake will not be a fake anymore.
