Tell us about yourself:

I am an undergraduate senior, 21 years old and a proud New Yorker! I'm a research assistant, who has always pursued arts as an avid passion. I love learning about the fashion industry and forms of expression that are unique to a person's perspective.

Modeling experience:

I have always had my eye out for new experiences, whether it was on stage for a dance performance or a fashion show I participated in recently. I feel there is more to a person than what you see on the other side of the lens, and that mystery is so intriguing for me.

My biggest goal:

I would love to combine my medical knowledge in educating youth about what it means to be beautiful and to learn about what an appearance shows and doesn't show. I've always hoped to envision myself as a model who not just promotes positivity but a healthy mindset about beauty.

What it means to be beautiful:

I think beauty is not just what meets the eye but also the vulnerability, to be able to wear your scars and battle wounds as I like to call them, just as graciously as what you are most proud of. Too many people these days are taught to be strong, and to not acknowledge their feelings, always promoting the only positivity, whether it was about body image or mental health. But to be beautiful is to be human and to be able to show tough emotions just as proudly as good ones.

My style:

I am a very sophisticated and classy kinda girl. I love wearing business causal because it reminds me of all the women who are working together to shatter the glass ceiling.

My inspiration:

There are endless women who I have encountered in my daily life such as my mother and sister but also idols such as Ruth Ginsburg, and the notorious Priyanka Chopra.

 My greatest accomplishments:

I was able to start my modeling career, and even though I am not where I would strive to be, I know that where there's a will, there's a way!

Special talents:

I am part of a competitive dance team, and have learned new styles such as hip hop, contemporary, raas, Bhangra, etc

Some of the obstacles that I have overcome:

My childhood was a rough patch and not having a stable environment, my mother was able to teach me what it means to rise above the most difficult times with resilience and become a truly independent person who asks for help when needed but also does not take a no for an answer.

What makes me beautiful:

I think what makes me beautiful is the culture I have happily embraced and the morals and ethics along with diversity that makes me so unique as a person. I think this is applicable to so many people who come from various backgrounds and cultures and make each one of us beautiful.

What would you say to another girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would tell the youth that even if people don't understand where you are from, they don't have to because you know you. Don't follow the crowd and listen to what other people's perception of you because they can only see who you are to the capacity that they know, not you.
