My name is Ellie K., I am 17 years old and from Long Island, New York.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I’ve done several photo shoots in the past however, I’m looking forward to getting more experience and doing as many new things as I can!
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream has always been to be an actress and singer. I would also love to incorporate fashion into my life and design my own clothing line one day.
What does it meant to be your own kind of beautiful.
To be your own kind of beautiful is simple... it sounds cliché but just be yourself! Every single person is unique and we need to learn to embrace that.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I like to say I don’t have a fashion style. I dress according to what mood I’m in which keeps it interesting and fun! I LOVE trying as many new looks as I can because fashion is a way to express yourself. I’ve found confidence through different outfits and continue changing my look up. You have to take risks to find what you like!
Who or what inspires you?
I have SO many inspirations but one of the biggest ones I would have to say is Zendaya. I admire an endless amount of things about her... anywhere from her confidence to her style to her attitude to her kind heart.
What have been your greatest accomplishments?
I would say my biggest accomplishments in life are becoming the Editor in Chief of my school newspaper, teaching dance to young girls, and having my artwork displayed at multiple art shows.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Junior year has been especially difficult for me to handle balancing the endless amounts of work to my friendships to my family. It causes a lot of anxiety especially doing the college search and SAT prepping. I always work hard and keep pushing though because I know it will all be worth it in the end. I’m a very ambitious person so it has definitely prepared me even more for the future.
What makes you beautiful?
I think what makes me beautiful is I always try to stick to my own thing. I never try to be like anyone else and it shows. I have my own style, attitude, and outlook on life. I think it’s something my friends and family admire about me. I’m always encouraging others to be comfortable being themselves as well.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Anytime you are struggling with confidence, remember you were given your body for a reason. There isn’t anyone else like you out there and it’s so, so important to embrace that. It’s true, many social media posts show these people that seem “perfect” but remember that’s not real life. Everyone is different and beautiful in their own way. If you try acting like someone else, the world is losing you!
