My name is Shella Jeanty, I’m from Norwich Connecticut, I am 23 years young.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I’ve been modeling for 3 years now. I’ve done many fashion shows such as local shows, i.e The rebellion, The whale Tail , Sound of fashion week of CT. As well as other shows outside of the state, i.e Super Chic fashion show of NY, Super Chic fashion show of LV, The Gala Experience fashion show in NY, and much more. I’ve also been published in 6 Magazines and I’ve Directed my own shoots which has also been published on magazines.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to Become a Corporate business owner as well as a well known model working for big fashion brands. I would also love to be able to provide to many people in need as well as become an inspiration to children of the next generation. To be able to encourage people to strive big and to be a light to the community.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
What it means to be my own kind of beautiful is that no one can feel happy and good about yourself but you. No one should tell you and determine wether your beautiful or not. Having a good self esteem and being confident in yourself means that no matter what you are amazing and no one can take that way from you, and THATS beautiful.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would say I have a multifaceted type of fashion style. I love to dress up as well as dress in streetwear. From heels to sneakers and dresses to baggy jeans, I love it all. But what makes me different from others is the uniqueness of how I put my clothes together and how it best suits my personality.
Who or what inspires you?
My inspiration is Teyanna Taylor. The reason as to why she inspires me is because no matter what, she always pushes for greater for her and her family. She is very under rated. The way she dresses, the way she Carries herself. The way she makes music and acts, her personality is beautiful and it shows me that I can push and be great just like she has with her career.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
My advise to someone whose just coming into the modeling industry is to never give up. You will receive a lot of No’s, but that doesn’t mean you should quit. In fact that just means you should keep pushing because your uniqueness will be appreciated by someone who matters. You will make it. Just don’t give up.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Some obstacles I’ve overcome in my life is back when I was in school, I was bullied all throughout. It was so bad to the point that I almost gave up on myself and on life, but I kept pushing. This is a one of the most important obstacles in my life because looking back to when I was humiliated and called ugly, and everyone around me Despised me, I look back today and noticed that that same group of people who bothered me is the same group of people that look up to me and applaud my strength.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I am beautiful because of my personality. Not many people can say that their heart is so pure and so warm. I am very caring and very loving that I would give up everything just to help another person out. I work very hard for what I want and believe in and I am always lending a helping hand to anyone who needs it or looks for it. That’s what makes me beautiful.
What would you say to another guy/girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?
For someone who is struggling with confidence. I would tell them, to really love yourself. Without loving yourself you will not be confident in yourself. Learn who you are, learn what makes you happy, and when you’ve learned who you are, you will learn to love yourself and then confidence comes next. No one can make you love you and have confidence in you but you.
