Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
I am from the small town of Homerville, in South Georgia. I am 15 years old. Modeling has been a part of my life since the age of 12.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
My modeling experience began as I modeled for a formal wear store for three years. During that time, I have walked in fashion shows, competed in pageants at the state and local level, and done print modeling. I also had the opportunity to appear in a commercial to advertise for the company and appeared on a billboard advertisement. One of my favorite modeling opportunities was a destination shoot in the Bahamas.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to one day model formal wear at New York fashion week.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
I believe that all of God’s creation is fearfully and wonderfully made in his image. The light that you allow to shine to others shows confidence and defines beauty. Being your own kind of beautiful is defined by this.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would describe my fashion style as classy and enduring. I enjoy basing my fashion on classic but modern styles that have endured throughout the decades.
Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by public figures who lead by example. This can include close family members who encourage me to pursue my dreams, or industry leaders who are icons in the fashion world but are still true to who they are.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
My advice to someone who is new to modeling is to become the best version of yourself through hard work, dedication, and faith, and to stay true to who “You” are through it all.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
At the young age of 15, I have been fortunate to not have faced many large obstacles, but one major defining moment in my life was when my grandmother passed away from her battle with cancer. This obstacle shaped my life by teaching me to never give up, no matter how hard the situation. My grandmother never gave up and kept fighting through the hardest time of her life and always kept a positive outlook. She will always be my inspiration.
What makes you beautiful/ handsome?
I believe that moments like this build strength and beauty. Also, the way that I carry myself in front of others is part of what makes me beautiful. If I can be a light to someone and make others feel good when they are around me, then I feel beautiful.
What would you say to another guy/girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Today’s society can make it so hard for teens my age to be confident in themselves. The advise that I would give others is to never allow social media or anyone’s comments or opinions of you to affect the way you see yourself. Surround yourself with good people who make you feel loved and beautiful.
