Tell us about yourself:

Hi! My name is May, I’m 18 and I was originally born in Thailand but I was raised in Minnesota! I loveee working out, discovering new music, and meeting new people! I’m a student at Baylor University, I’m majoring in Biology and Minoring in Business. My goal is to become a dermatologist and open up my own practice one day.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I first started modeling in 2021 with cars and fell in love with the environment. I love being able to meet other people and models that share the same interest in cars as me. I also struggled with my confidence growing up and being surrounded by people supporting and uplifting you is the best feeling ever.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to one day give back to my parents all that they have given for me. They dropped everything to move us to America for a better life for me and I hope to one day pay them back for everything they’ve done for me and show gratitude.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful is to be comfortable in your own skin. With social media these days, we are always looking to see who is desired the most and tried to shape ourselves like them, or at least I’ve caught myself doing that sometimes. Instead of trying to be like everybody else, we have to realize our differences is what makes us unique and we should be proud of who we are.

How would you describe your fashion style?

All over the place haha. I’d say I go through phases, including a lot of streetwear, preppy and bohemian clothes, etc. It’s safe to say I have a little bit of everything in my closet.

Who or what inspires you?

My parents and the Man above! I give it all to them.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Put yourself out there! There are so many photographers looking to shoot and so many opportunities available for aspiring models. It’s not as scary as it seems!

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

One thing I have overcome in my life is my anxiety, granted, I still feel anxious sometimes but it’s definitely not as prominent as before. To help me overcome this, I’ve learned to realize that everybody goes through hardships, they are inevitable and worrying will do nothing but stress you out. Casting my anxieties allow me to focus on the now and let the future place itself. I’ve found that I’ve been way more calm and at peace with myself (also, my skin is clearer when I’m at peace!!)

What makes you beautiful?

Who you are on the inside. You could be the most attractive person in the world but I feel what makes you truly beautiful is how you carry yourself and how you interact with others.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence ?

As somebody who has struggled with their confidence for years my biggest peace of advice is stop trying to be like everybody else, if you looked/acted like everybody else, what would make you special? The biggest life hack to confidence is finding yourself and what YOU are meant to do
