Tell us about yourself

I am a first generation American of Afro-Caribbean descent originally from St. Louis, MO. My name is pronounced as though there should be an “n” in it like mahn-dough. The name was passed down from my great great great  grandmother, Queen Modoh, who ruled over the Tikar people in the late 1800s who still reside in what is now known to be the country of Cameroon.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I started when I was 14 years old. That’s when I signed to my first agency as a“hair model” immediately getting work in trade hair shows particularly in bridal. I then moved to New York when I was 18 and began gaining more opportunities in runway, print and TV. The rest as they say is history.

What is your biggest dream?

This might be a dream that’s not too uncommon. It’s one of my top five dreams. I’d like to have a big family, a lot of kids, a nice country farmhouse (I live in the midwest lol)- maybe a few houses. I’d love to marry somebody I’m madly obsessed with.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I think if there was a recipe, I would say you need a little bit of ‘conventional’ mixed with a little bit of ‘unconventional’ to create a unique beauty.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Right now it’s the mob wife aesthetic, guilty.

Who or what inspires you?

I love anyone that thinks before they speak, says less than what they know, and knows how to let the trivial things go.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Find out what your niché is and then find a reputable mentor to help bring that gift outside of you.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I have faced a lot of adversity, but what always got me through each obstacle was knowing that I had a deep magic inside of me. And being aware that my journey would be different from my peers.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I’m beautiful because of the person that lives on the inside. My exterior is just a shiny, glossy cherry on top of the cake.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

One day people will love you, the next day they’ll hate you, but both days you still have to live with you- so choose your steps intentionally as to what will make you feel the most free and alive. “Forget the goofies” is my new self-proclaimed motto.
