Tell us about yourself

I’m Chiqui, I was born in Venezuela and I live in Brooklyn New York, I’m a simple, dreamy girl who always goes in search of her happiness.

Tell us about your experience as a model.

I have been a model since I was 4 years old, my dad made me a model from a very young age, I had the opportunity to learn a lot, I was able to travel to other countries to fulfill my dreams of being a model, I travel to Peru, Mexico and now I am in New York, I have done commercials, runways, editorials, advertising campaigns and I even managed to make my own model camp where I had the opportunity to share my experiences with about 30 people.

What is your biggest dream?

Since I was a little girl my biggest dream was to have the life I have now, to be a Model and to live in New York, I want to continue living the life I am living, to be an academically prepared woman, to continue to be even more successful in my career as a model and to see my family again, that is the real dream.

What does it mean to be your own type of beauty?

It means being myself regardless of being criticized or judged by society, it means feeling good about myself, with my body and my skin, it means following my ideals and always trusting my instinct and my power, external beauty is worthless when you can’t see the internal one, and people only think that there is nothing more than a physique to contribute.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Authentic, I follow the fashion I want, I always look for some inspirations but in the end I always create my own style that trusts me when it comes to being me

Who or what inspires you?

I am inspired by the woman I see every day when I see myself in the mirror, I am my own inspiration because I have had a difficult life and yet I have always fought for my dreams and I have never given up, that has led me to achieve each of my goals and has made me an inspiration for the people who know me

What is your advice for someone who is just starting out in modeling?

That they are always authentic, original, confident in themselves and humble when it comes to learning, the modality is a career where every day you learn something new, and it is always good to take the advice of people who are in the industrial and know the market.

Describe some obstacles that you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

At one stage of my life I went through a very strong depression where I was going to therapy for 1 year, I lived many hard things in my adolescence and without a doubt that changed my life, it made me a strong and courageous woman but giving my dreams to God Modeling was also part of my salvation

What makes you beautiful?

What makes me more beautiful, without a doubt, is my essence.

What would you say to another girl/boy your age who is struggling with her confidence?

That finally everyone will want to criticize you, everyone will have something to say about you, be it good or bad. But the most important thing is how you feel about yourself, each human being has something characteristic and that is what makes us ourselves, I would say that we should never lose our essence or our trust by trying to please others. You always have to remember that no one is like you and that is your power.
