1. Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
My full name is Kazandra Olvera but I like to go by Kazey. I’m from Weatherford, Texas and I’ll be 17 in December. I played volleyball and was a varsity cheerleader at my school where I am currently a junior at. I’m involved with FCCLA - Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America - and absolutely love trying new things. For example, this year I have decided to take on a brand new sport to me, softball. And I am also currently enrolled at my local community college getting a head start on retaining my bachelors degree for international business in a few years.
2. What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to figure out what I truly want to do when I’m older. Hopefully becoming the CEO of a major company or even my own. Traveling everywhere just for business meetings. Or maybe even becoming an accountant for Apple or any other large company. But who knows what the future holds.
3. What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of beautiful to me means that you, yourself, are just doing exactly what you want to do. Dressing the way you want, acting as you wish. Not having other people get in the way of your own beauty. Everyone has a different way of portraying themselves. That’s why God made us each individually unique. Always be true to yourself and never let anyone take your personal beauty away from you. Never.
4. Tell us about your modeling experience.
I have never modeled before. I have always wanted to but my spirit was always put out due to my height. When I found out about this agency, I just knew I had to give it a shot and fill out a form. And hey, it worked out and I cannot wait to get started!
What is your dream brand to model for?
If you know me, you would know that I love everything about fashion. Modeling for any huge designer brand like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Chanel, Dior and so many other great designers. It would be so amazing. Even though my height stops me from possible modeling opportunities, just being involved with them in any way would be such an incredible dream.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would describe my fashion style as street style taking on modern chic. I absolutely love playing with clothes! I love all the fancy gowns, outfits and heels from stores such as Windsor but also love me a personal shopping spree at Tilly’s, Zumiez, and Vans.
7. How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?
Self-awareness and confidence is such an important thing. If you don’t have either of those things then you won’t get far in life. With self-awareness comes responsibility, responsibility to always be holding yourself accountable for everything that you do. Confidence. Once you have it, hold onto it forever.
What makes you beautiful?
For someone who has personally struggled with image issues, this was an eye opener. I never thought I was beautiful no matter how much my friends and family would tell me. I never believed them. I would always make excuses to not believe them. “They’re your friends” “They’re your family they’re just saying that.” But now as I’ve grown older and keep on getting new knowledge I am realizing for myself that yes, I am beautiful and so is everyone else. I took time for myself to realize exactly where I got this sudden epiphany. Confidence. I strongly believe that my confidence in myself has raised so much from now to just a few years ago when I struggled with my image. My confidence is now my most favorite quality that I feel shines through everything else about me.
What would you say to another girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Do what you want to do. As hard as it is, don’t listen to others opinions. They only get in the way of being yourself. Walk everywhere like it’s your personal runway because baby-girl, it is. xoxo
