Tell us about yourself

My name is Robbi R! I am 19 years old and I am from southern New Jersey. I attend College in Indiana. I enjoy working out, traveling, and spending as much time with my friends and family as possible. I am super open minded and optimistic and tend to see the glass half full! I find my positive attitude to be a strength that fuels my strong work ethic and drive to be the best version of myself. Aside from modeling, I am very interested in the field of psychology and am hoping to eventually graduate with a degree in Child Psychology.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

My modeling experience has so far been extremely positive! I started modeling a little over a year ago and have really enjoyed working with many awesome photographers from the New Jersey/ Philly/ NYC area. I have learned so much from every single photographer and stylist I’ve met over the past year and have fallen in love with this line of work. I am open to learning even more in the near future and excited to be a part of this industry!

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to find happiness doing what I love the most. I dream of being a successful model and to be able to work with brands and companies that I have always looked up to for fashion inspiration.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful, to me, means to be comfortable, confident, and content in your own skin. To love yourself from the inside out, from your core values to your physical appearance, and to represent yourself according to what you believe in rather than conforming to the expectations from an aggressive society.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Always changing! I can never decide what style or trend is my favorite because I love so many different kinds: from dark and mysterious to quirky and fun, from high fashion to street wear. Fashion is something that is very interesting to me and I enjoy branching out and developing a fashion identity of my own.

Who or what inspires you?

MY MOM! I have valued her work ethic and kind heart since the day I was old enough to recognize it and she has been my rock my whole life. She is the hardest worker I know and demonstrates unending support and sacrifice for what she believes in.

What have been your greatest accomplishments?

One of my greatest accomplishments, besides getting into my dream college and becoming a Hannah Noelle, was overcoming depression during the time I was recovering from a concussion. Although the recovery time for this injury was not long term this particular symptom was. I had lost my sense of identity, my drive was low, and I was feeling defeated. What I wanted most was to be the happy- go- lucky girl who once smiled and laughed all the time. After finally coming to the realization that my personality had shifted in a negative direction I knew I needed to find the strength and self motivation to transcend my depresion. With time I began to smile more, find new hobbies, explore new interests and establish quality friendships. I realized that although times felt dark the light that I needed was simply hidden and with a change of attitude I was able to not only revert back to my old and happy self but to grow into a better version of the old me. This accomplishment opened so many doors for me that I am forever grateful for.

Do you have any special talents?

Besides still being able to do a backflip, I have great communication skills. I am a very good listener and people seem to find comfort in talking to be about everything and anything! Although I am not a professional I love giving advice and helping people through difficult situations any way that I can.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

An obstacle that I overcame was when I was diagnosed with a post concussion syndrome. I was a competitive cheerleader at the time which meant six days a week in the gym and traveling every weekend for competitions; however, it was never just a sport to me it was an entire lifestyle. I sacrificed high school friendships, friday night football games, and even family vacations to fulfill my duties as a full time athlete. I competed as the center flyer on an international coed level five team (level five being the highest level in competitive cheerleading) and traveled nationwide to cities including  Nashiville, Dallas, Orlando, Los Angeles etc. in one season alone. After finding out about this diagnosis I was forced to end my career as a competitive cheerleader and in that single day my whole life would change. My closest friends that I had made in those eleven years were from all over the region and none from my small town- not only was I forced to give up my passion, but my social life as well. I turned into a ghost at school, had little to no drive, and felt as if I no longer had a purpose. It took a lot of time but I was able to find something new that motivated me and made me happy: modeling. The start to my modeling career gave me a new purpose and led me to realize that God has a plan for all of us even if there are obstacles along the way.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

To me, what makes me beautiful is my ability to embrace people's differences and connect with those around me. I believe that people are able to sense the type of energy one gives off, so I make sure to keep my energy positive and greet others with happiness at all times.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would tell any young boy or girl who is experiencing low confidence to embrace their individuality because that is what makes you you. In today's world low confidence seems to invade the minds of an uncountable number of young people and in order to break the consistency of this occurrence one must realize, for themselves, their infinite worth. Confidence is something that a person can only find within themselves and is something that every person is capable of achieving. To be confident means embrace your body and soul regardless of outside opinions. Love yourself because you are the only version of you!
